Am I the only person who likes watching JBL... until he gets to the ring?
He is a lot better at stirring the crowd than I thought he would be and, although his gimmick is a rehash of the Million Dollar Man and others, he carries it off very well.
I know that MacMahon has a reputation for making a star out of anyone and no doubt the limo etc helps a lot but John Bradshaw should get some credit for his working of the character.
Having said that, when JBL gets into the ring his gimmick appears to fly out of the window for the most part. Surely when he was told about his push somebody must've thought that his brawler style didn't suit the clean cut image of JBL. With that character, you expect him to have an offense like Ted Dibiase but instead he persists with the Clothesline from Hell and the Powerbomb - moves that have in the past and still do get a crowd pop. I would like to have seen JBL have a crappy submission hold as a finisher

I haven't seen much of JBL, since I almost never watch wrestling anymore. From what I gather though, there is absolutely no justification for him being the champion right now. I would rather see him fired than Billy Gunn, Test or even A-train. Billy Gunn at least has some interesting moves in the ring, Test may be boring and slow in the ring, but he's not AS boring and slow as JBL and Albert may be the least entertaining guy ever, but at least he's apparently a nice guy in real life, unlike JBL (who appears to be a crazy asshole from his WWE.com columns [both when he was a face and a heel]).
JBL is an old asshole who passed his prime many years ago, and if it wasn't for the fact that he kisses Vince's ass like anything (and that Vince is an equally crazy bastard), I'm certain he would be handing out stock tips to rednecks for a living.
Still, as mentioned, I haven't seen much of JBL lately, but I'm pretty sure I'd be unimpressed.
Fuck JBL.

His ring work has improved slightly, but he's no Benoit.
Smackdown needed a long term heel champion and although i wish he'd taken the belt off of someone other then Guererro he's done an ok job with it, he plays the character very well and he can get good crowd heat. .....though i'm sure playing playing with an asshole isn't too difficult for ol bradshaw.

JBL is semi-good at promos, but a complete waste in the ring. Reminds me of Austin & Flair except Austin & Flair have more talent for promos

In his prime Austin wasn't a complete waste in the ring and neither was Flair, i don't see where ur coming from on that 1.

You're right.
JBL has always been a complete waste in the ring.

More than anything, it's due to his out of character behaviour & the right-wing bollocks he regularly spouts.

There is a big difference between disliking someone because they are the heel and hating them because they are shit in the ring
JBL is a prime example of the latter

Indeed, there's a difference between the heat that say... Angle gets, and what's referred to X-Pac heat. Most people hate heels because they're heels, but fans hate people like JBL and X-Pac because they're innately hateable as human beings, not just as wrestlers.
